Hughesdale Primary School Show and Shine

MGB track day race car at the first Hughesdale School Show and Shine

Hughesdale School Carnival Show and Shine section featured this MGB. My Zephyr behind.

1961 Cadillac low rider. $35,000 paint job!

Hydraulic suspension on this lowrider Cadillac from 1961.
Not strictly speaking a part of the Show and Shine, but parked right next to, was this trader's Bedford CF Jumbo. Powered by a Chev 350. The owner took a great deal of interest in the vehicles, being quite a car collector himself.

Awesome thumping sound system.

Amother fine car at the first Hughesdale Primary School Show and Shine, as a part of the fund raising Carnival. 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible. SES and Police displays behind.

Great to see so many parents at Hughesdale Primary School have good taste in cars!
This is a Caterham 7

Holden HZ ute

Holden HZ ute beautifully restored. Not such a good photo, as it was shoe horned in to the shed.

Triumph 2500

Triumph 2500. A new arrival to the street. Welcome!

Very tidy Triumph 2500. Nice to see I'm not the only one in the street to appreciate a great old classic.

Triumph 2500

These cars were so call in their day. Even now the 2500 is often voted most common everyday driver in UK and NZ classic car magazines.

Another Ford Fairmont XC

Ford Fairmont XC.

Ford fairmont XC hanging in there...

Spotted on the side of the road a couple of suburbs away. Ford Fairmont XC.

Holden Kingswood station wagon HK HG HT Time warp. Survivor class.

In amazing condition is this Holden Station wagon. I was told which model it is, but that was a few weeks ago now - too long for my old brain to retain!
I love seeing cars in this condition! It would be criminal to restore a car that looks so good. A piece of history would be lost or ever. our kids don't remember the roads full of cars just like this. Showroom restos just can't capture the real picture of how cars used to be. Pep has a couple of beautifully restored Holdens in the garage behind, but admits they would have been better left original back in the eighties. Too late now...

There is often a nice old car or two outside Pep's workshop. This is the first time I have stopped to talk and was allowed rock star access to this and the other Holdens in the shed. See HZ ute blog.

Beautiful survivor condition Holden Kingswood station wagon. I'm sure someone will tell me whether it is HG, HK or HT.

Holden Kingswood six cylinder power plant. As wonderfully preserved as the rest of the car.
Surprisingly tidy engine bay for a car approaching it's fiftieth birthday.
